Washington’s dearly beloved Southern Resident orca population faces innumerable threats and challenges. Their survival is on the brink as witnessed by Tahlequah’s recent loss of her second child. Her loss and grief have been another public and painful reminder of their tragic endangerment.
For the Love of Orcas; An evening of art, poetry and prose will bring orca lovers/community together to experience artists’ expression of love for the orca. There will be murals and paintings to view, poetry and spoken words to listen to, and inspiration to engage in orca recovery efforts.
We invite you to share space with us as we honor Tahlequah and her relations.
